Chicago Society for Neuroscience – 2017 Career Achievement Award Call for Nominations

The Chicago Chapter of the Society for Neuroscience is pleased to announce an annual award to recognize chapter members who in their careers have made outstanding contributions to advance neuroscience education, research and/or outreach in the greater Chicago Community.  This award is based on nominations and announced at the Chicago Society for Neuroscience Annual Meeting.  One award is presented annually.

Criteria for nomination include (one or a combination of the following):
1.     The candidate has made outstanding contributions to the development of educational programs in neuroscience in the greater Chicago Community.
2.     The candidate has made outstanding contributions to strengthen research in a particular field of neuroscience in the greater Chicago Community.
3.     The candidate has made outstanding contributions to the education and mentoring of undergraduate, graduate or medical students or post-doctoral fellows in neuroscience in the greater Chicago Community.
4.     The candidate has made outstanding contributions to public communication, outreach, and education about neuroscience in the greater Chicago Community

To nominate a member, please send a letter of nomination along with a CV of the person being nominated to: c-voisine@neiu.edu. The deadline for nominations for the 2017 Award is February 1, 2017.

Award:  The awardee will be presented with a plaque and an official citation at the annual meeting and will be invited to present a few remarks. A page on the CSfN website will be devoted to current and prior awardees with links to their pages.

Award process:  A committee of 3 individuals comprised of current CSfN members will read through nominations and select an awardee.
